Kabhi Kabhi Baking, Kushi Kushi Mein
Baking at home is mouth smacking and relishing too .. savor is loved by not only kids but also elders at home which is definitely lip smacking. Passion of baking sprouted .. let me know forget my childhood naughty days .. loved eating tasty food.. bakery items..stealing eateries which mom hide.. getting caught.. lots of fun.. This is way back in 80s.....my would make everything at home, those generation you never had even a mixer/ grinder .. it was all hand made with our traditional grinder used at home..Stone one. She made all masalas at home, we prepared sweets the savour chuckly .. kodballe .. Rava ladoos and many more to count. We also grinded batter for idly/ dosa at home and ofcourse twice a week. We could never store since we never had refrigerator those yester years. Mom would ensure we learn all household work which included cooking... being a girl she wanted us to learn so that we learn to manage when we walk off after marriage. When in high school.. knew to cook ragi balls .. rice sambar.
As a child was a big foodie.. would always want to compete with my 2nd sisters. Basically all my uncles cousins compared me with her.. for the everything she did which includes are cleaning, cooking, household work and her less talking behaviour. Everyone like see your sister.. you should be like her bla bla.. on and on. Am sure no child would like this when compared with sibblings. So. when we sat for lunch.. dinner.. would see that I eat more than her.. ofcourse.. many times have ended up puking..LOL. Mom would always worn me for the kind of foodie me was.. she would not take me with her when she goes out.. coz would demand eating out.
Recall the bakery cream bun which me would savour this ... those days there where not many stuff in the nearby bakeries .. wth cream we would only find the honey cake and cream bun. Well even though my mom used to not allow us to eat often .. would always wait for the opportunity to buy them and just take the pleasure of having the cream on the bun little by little... yummy...!!!!
Well as a child would love to eat not only bakery items but also home made stuffs.. my mom would hide eatables so that me don't eat away all the share of my siblings. Well would always win over my mom in finding eatables in hidden places. and ofcourse would get caught too. Remember while was in 4th standard while finding out the hidden sweets she prepared, spilt over the entire sambar powder on my head.. OMG.. mom had to rush me wash away the home made sambar powder.. You can imagine the situation at home.. HAHAHA!!!.
So, now you know.. from where did me get the passion of baking inspired me!!!!
Life goes on with all these cherished memories and got busy with studies/work/wedding/family etc.. Worked for 22 years in shipping and logistics industry, where service is requried 24/7 to our customer being shipping it was geographically spread across the globe. Had long working hours and never got time for my family neither myself. Infact when my son was born ... had to get back to work after 3 months but got an extension with LOP for 2 months. Had to leave my son with my parents since my inlaws where old and they could not take care of infant. It was really breath taking to leave my son with my parents and get back to work for my husband place.. owing to distance would visit my son weekly once. Those days where tough to manage hectic work, visiting son.. managing family. Missed all those child hood days with my son which me still regret. .. but life has to go on.. had to support family too. Was tired of corporate work style with long working hours.. no time to even visit my sick parents.. and decide to abide good bye to work in 2017. We did have a discussion at home and finally put my papers off and was a free bird to explore my passion in June 2017. Decided to start off working from home and was still exploring what needs to be done to keep me busy coz am not a person who can stay at home ideal. Took of jewellery and clothing biz and started off my own online store - https://kanyaandme.wooplr.com
My passion to learn baking was able to finally unlock very lately last year.
